Student Council Elections and Star Student
Student Council Elections were yesterday, and the winners were announced this morning! The Student Council President will be Tessa Vincennie!
And the Vice-President will be Kate Cromer!!
In room 40 news, our Star Student this week was the easiest choice I've ever had. Through the course of her actions this week, Klea has shown herself to have one of the most important qualities a person can have. She has demonstrated more INTEGRITY this week than I've seen in any child or any adult I've ever known, including myself! It is for this reason, that although she didn't make it as Student Council President today, I know that Klea will be one of the most successful people I've ever had the privilege of teaching. I have been truly inspired this week by her character this week.

Marine Science Center
Yesterday we went on an awesome field trip to the Marine Science Center!

The kids learned about what types of substances dissolve in water, and then learned how to use thermal energy to distill salt water into fresh water.

They got to look up close at tiny marine animals using microscopes.

They went on a scavenger hunt for vertebrates and invertebrates in the Marine Science Museum.

The Wet Lab is always everyone's favorite part!

Finally, we went to the beach to collect some sea shells. On the way we found a HUGE spider laying out between some trees right over the boardwalk out to the beach! Cool!

Check out the awesome milk cartons!
