Fun Run 2014

The Fun Run was a ton of fun! Everyone in the class completed at least 35 laps, which was more than 2 full miles! The Superstars also ended the Boosterthon with the most pledges in the whole school - 2 years in a row!

Now, it's time to collect those pledges. Please make sure to help your children collect the pledges they received for their 35 laps. And in the meantime, check out these great pics from the run.

Boosterthon Day 3

After the first two days of the Boosterthon, the Superstars are still in the lead for the most points in the school!  Huzzah!  Here are the MVPs for today! 

Boosterthon Day 2

The Boosterthon Fun Run kicked off yesterday with a thrilling Pep Rally and I am super excited about this year’s program.  The Boosterthon Fun Run program involves all students in a fun, team building, fitness event while helping our school raise much-needed funds.  The central focus of this year’s character program is FRIENDSHIP. This year’s character theme is CAMP HIGH FIVE, and the Booster Team will take students on a fun-filled journey teaching them the importance of friendship. 

Our entire school is raising funds to go toward building a new track at our school.  

After the first night of the Boosterthon, the Sofferin's Superstars earned a whopping $14 per lap!  That's between $420-$490 total already pledged for our school!  That puts Sofferin's Superstars in the lead across the whole school for total number of pledges!  And Chelsea was our MVP - earning a total of $85 pledged.  Let's keep our spot at the top!  

Here’s how you can help:

1) LOG ON to your student’s website at www.FunRun.com using your student’s access code on the Pledge Book that cam home with them today.  Log on each night to watch the Camp High Five character and music videos, and enter pledge information.

2)  GET PLEDGES by connecting your student with 10 sponsors. The new funrun.com has many ways to use social media in the pledging process and pay online. Be sure to capture and record the e-mail address of each sponsor, as they will have an easy opportunity to pay for your student’s pledge by credit card online.

3) COME TO THE BOOSTERTHON FUN RUN NEXT WEEK! Remember, students will be running 30-35 laps and we would love to have lots of support for our team!

Boosterthon Fun Run!

The Boosterthon kicked off yesterday with an exciting pep rally!  The Boosterthon Team will be at Beauclerc all week to help teach the kids about Friendship and Fitness, raise money for charity, and help our school!  

The money from this year's Boosterthon will go towards getting a track built on our field.  We have a lot of wide open space on our field, but unfortunately the ground is not very level, bumpy and terrible for running.  A track will be a very valuable addition to our school.  

Your child received a packet yesterday with information about how to login in to the Fun Run website and start collecting either pledges or flat donations.  Money can be collected from family, friends, and even parents' coworkers!  It's super easy to collect and log in the donations.  But make sure that anyone pledging money understands that the children will be running between 30 and 35 laps.  So, a dollar pledge means they are PROMISING to donate between $30 and $35.  If someone doesn't want to make a pledge, they can make a flat donation of any amount.  

EDDY Awards

 

The EDDY Awards is a ceremony honoring the Teachers of the Year throughout Duval County.  I don't yet know if I'll be in the running for the top 5, but tickets are already available for anyone who wants to attend.  The details are in the invitation above, which also features four of our own Superstars!  Go to Eddyawardsjax.org if you want to buy tickets.

Boosterthon Fun Run!

The Boosterthon Fun Run is coming back to Beauclerc! The Booserthon was among the most fun events we had all last year, and it's coming back! Beginning on January 22nd, students will be able to collect pledges for the Fun Run and earn prizes! All week, we'll be learning from the Boosterthon coaches about how to be a good friend by Respecting Others, Not Bullying, Shouting Out Strengths, Sticking Together, and Showing Sportsmanship! Then, on the 31st we'll have a run, where students will run laps to earn money for their school! Personally, I can't wait for the Boosterthon to begin.
