New Resource Schedule

Starting this week, we will have a new resource schedule! That means each resource will be the same time each week! Hurray! Of course, the most important piece of this is that P.E. will be on Tuesdays each week from now on, beginning tomorrow! You can see the full resource schedule in the sidebar.

Figurative Language Bonus Money Challenge

Bonus Money Challenge

 Find examples of SIMILES, METAPHORS, and PERSONIFICATION in movies, television, books, or whatever.  On a sheet of paper, make a three-column chart.  In the first column, list examples of figurative language you found.  In the second column, tell which type of figurative language it is.  In the third column, tell where you saw/heard the example.  You earn $5 for each example listed, up to 20 examples.

Each week I'll be posting at least one Bonus Money Challenge, which is a special assignment you can do for homework to earn some Bonus Money.

Today's challenge - How Much Farther?

Choose a city in the United States and two other destination cities in the United States. Use the Internet to find distances between the starting and ending cities.

For example, Jacksonville to Detroit & Jacksonville to Nashville.

Search on Google: "distance between ______ and ________"

Then, find the DIFFERENCE between the two distances using one of our subtraction strategies.

Complete AT LEAST three sets of cities to earn $100 in Bonus Money.
