Mid-Year Party!

As has become the tradition in Mr. Sofferin’s class, this December we will be having an all-day Pajama Party the week before break! Students are invited to come to school in their PJs and slippers. They can even bring a blanket and a teddy bear if they want!

During the morning, we’ll share hot cocoa, watch a movie together, play games, visit with our Kindergarten Learning Buddies, and just relax with our friends and celebrate that we’ve come half-way through the third grade.

In the afternoon, we’ll have a holiday feast! This is where you come in! We need food, drinks, and paper products.

Of course, family members are also invited to join us for our Mid-Year Bash! Please let me know as soon as possible if you intend to join us.

Hat Day!

Today was Hat Day at Beauclerc, and most of the class showed up strutting their School Spirit! Check out all the great hats!

Leo won the vote for the coolest hat in the class with his retro Mario Bros. hat!

Amber was cute as can be in the top of her pumpkin Halloween costume!

Here's Axel in his moose hat. He claims the brown things behind the moose are footprints, but they look like something else to me.

A lot of kids opted for the tried and true baseball cap.






But some kids went for something a little more original, like Hudson in his fishing hat!
Or Rebekah in her fuzzy black hat!

Or Kenniah with this awesome cowboy hat, which she had trouble fitting over her braids!
Even though she was sick, Elysha still managed to come with school spirit and a snazzy matching outfit to go with it!

Out of 18 kids, only 5 forgot to bring their school spirit today. They look pretty upset about it too. Except for Abdullah.
Oh well, I hope they remember their school spirit next time! Our next Spirit Day is December 3rd - Stuffed Animal Day!!

State the State!

Now you can practice your states on Cool Math Games.com! This is a great game for practicing your states. First, practice just picking the correct state name. Then, once you've got that down, practice spelling the states! This game includes all 50 states, and we still have 13 more to learn, but you can get a head start learning the Western states while studying the others.

Report Cards!!!!

Report Cards went home today!! Make sure to check your child's Tuesday Folder for the Report Cards. Please complete the following:

• Sign report card
• Remove slip at the bottom of the report card
• Place slip back into the envelope
• Sign the envelope
• Have your child return the envelope to school tomorrow (Wednesday)
• Review the report card with your child, noting things they have improved upon and things that they still need to work on
