What a Great Party!

We had a blast yesterday at our End of the Year Party! We had loads of food thanks to all the parents who sent stuff in! The kids got their awards, along with a bunch of other goodies! And we watched the video year book, which left everyone in the room crying by the end of it. The best part of the day was that Malik came to visit our class one last time! Unfortunately, we had so much fun that I neglected to take very many pictures. And so I don't have much to post! But I'll be sure to get plenty of pictures Sunday!

Make sure to vote in the new poll ------------------->

I'll see all of you Sunday, at 2:00 at Osaka!

American Grandstand!

American Grandstand was a BLAST last night - easily the BEST Grandstand performance I've ever seen! You guys rocked it out! Let's see some great pictures!

Props to Roosevelt's mom for making him look so much like the real Chuck Berry! He definitely gets the prize for best costume!

Shantania as Etta James! She makes a beautiful blonde, doesn't she?

Rami, Will Smith just called. He wants you to costar with him in the next "Men in Black" movie.

The four best looking guys (and one rock chick) in the show!

Is it me or do these two look like they could be sisters?

Roosevelt as Chuck Berry got a rousing applause for his dance solo!

Tanner who?

Congrats to Roosevelt!

Congratulations to Roosevelt - Winner of the Fourth Annual Knowledge-Bowl! It was a well-deserved win! Great job, Rudy!
Also, congratulations to Chris, Rami, Amer, Spencer, and Aniyah for making it to the final six in the competition! You should all be very proud of your accomplishment!

Change of Location for Sunday Luncheon

Unfortunately, Sakura is not open at the time that I had planned our end of the year luncheon. So, I have rescheduled it at Osaka Japanese Restaurant at 11701 San Jose Blvd. It'll still be at 2:00 on May 31st, and then we'll head to the movies right afterward!

Go here for a map to Osaka Japanese Restaurant.

Correction About Spaghetti Dinners

I made a mistake in my previous post. Our food for the spaghetti dinner will be provided by the Northside Business Club, not Olive Garden.

If you haven't ordered your dinner yet, there's still time! An extra order form will go home on Tuesday!

Funny Pictures

I've been busy snapping pictures like crazy this week! I'm working to get as many last minute pictures as I can for our Video Year Book. It's already over an hour long, and I'm not done yet! Here are some of the funnier pictures I've taken this week:

Look how cute Thomas is in this picture! Awwwwe!

Forget the kids! I think Mrs. Hartless and I should be the stars of American Grandstand!

Shan giving me a...friendly reminder to print more tickets.

Only Mrs. Robinson can make that outfit look good!

American Grandstand

We've been working very intensely on American Grandstand! The show is looking to be fantastic! You're all in for a real treat!

Notes went home today letting you know some more specifics about next week's American Grandstand show. Included on the note is a list of costume items that your child will need next Thursday.

We will be having practice NEXT TUESDAY, at 3:15 after school. It's scheduled to go until 4:30, but plan on it running long Tuesday.

On Thursday, students need to come to school in costume and make-up (if applicable) at 8:25. We will have three performances during the day for the school. You are welcome to come to those, but keep in mind that seating will be limited.

Students need to be back at the school at 6:15 PM for the nighttime performance for families. They need to be in costume and make-up, and should have already eaten dinner. If you are coming to the spaghetti dinner, make sure to come early enough that they will be done by 6:15.

The show begins at 7:00 PM sharp! See you then!

Spaghetti Dinner!

The night of American Grandstand will be pretty hectic, and you probably won't want to take the time to make dinner! Instead, join us at Beauclerc for our Spaghetti Dinner! The art and music departments are hosting a spaghetti dinner right before Grandstand! The proceeds will go to help out both departments. The dinner will be provided by the Northside Business Club and will cost you only $5!

An order form went home last week. Ask your child to get another form from school if you need one!

Sights & Sounds!

Sights and Sounds was great as usual! After a brutal 2-hour practice in the blistering heat, the Chorus and ORFF was ready to perform tonight, and they did a spectacular job!

Here's a look at our class's artwork that they did with Mrs. Robinson:

Here's Vanna, along with two fourth grade ORFF members performing a song on their recorders.

All of ORFF performing on their recorders.

Caitlin, Jayla, and Allison perform

Caitlin did a beautiful job with the solo on "Heart of America!"

Great job, Chorus and ORFF!

As wonderful as the chorus and ORFF was, I have to say that my absolute favorite part of the night was the adorable performances by the dual-language kindergarten classes! They were awesome! Mrs. Long and Mrs. Thompson did an incredible job with them!
