Stuffed Animal Day and Gravity Butterlies!
Yesterday was Stuffed Animal Day! Darius's giant teddy bear dressed in a Jaguar's jacket was voted the best in the class!

But there were plenty of other awesome stuffed animals as well! Check 'em out!

This week, we've been learning about gravity, and yesterday we did a whole bunch of really cool experiments dealing with the center of gravity. Below is a fork and spoon balancing on the rim of a glass bottle, with nothing but a bit of toothpick holding it up! It's in balance because the weight on one side of the center of gravity is the same as the weight on the other side.
Then we made way-cool floating butterflies that can balance on just the very tip of your finger...

....or from the tip of your nose....
...or your ears....

Some kids thought the butterflies and balancing utensils were magic, but they learned that they're the product of something way cooler than magic - SCIENCE!
