Play Day

Play Day was an absolute blast this year!



Here are two of the three teachers who made it so much fun, Mr. Gonzales and Coach Dudjak!



The first event was the Balloon Pop Relay!













Then, the Dress Up Relay! Hey, that looks like one of MY ties!









Then came the Beach Ball Relay!
















Then Penguin Relay!






















The Three-Legged Race!
















My personal favorite one to watch was the Soccer Relay! I can't describe in words how hilarious this was!
















Another classic - the Potato Sack Relay!






















The last relay was a simple running race! Check out the determination on Justice's face!

























Our class clobbered the competition in the Jump Rope Contest, thanks to Justice, Hudson, Klea, Elysha, and Alexis! We scored 270 jumps compared to 230 from the second place finisher!



















Sea so had time between relays for dancing! Even the teachers got into it!











































The final event was theTug-o-War!


We didn't win, but we had loads of fun trying!



At the end of Play Day, I was greeted to a great surprise, as former Sofferin Superstar, and former Student Council President, Isabel Snow showed up to visit, along with her brother, Ricky! It was great to see the both of them!

Play Day This Thursday!

Play Day is coming this Thursday! Make sure to bring comfortable clothes, gym shoes, and a water bottle! Parents are welcomed to join us for the fun as well!

New Classroom Management System in Room 40

Over the past week or so, our class planned a new system for classroom management and a more realistic classroom economy. Our new system will attach more realistic consequences to students breaking the rules. Essentially, it will work as follows.

Students will have classroom jobs for which they will earn a monthly income.
They will use their income to pay for the right to eat in the classroom at lunch and to buy goods in our class store and our auctions.
When a student breaks a rule, they will pay a fine rather than flipping a card. Unlike the system we've used up until now, which gives the same consequence for different types of behavior, this updated system gives different consequences based on the severity of the "crime".
The different class "crimes" and their corresponding fines were determined by the students, and are as follows.



Instead of students filling in a simple letter grade in their planners, which doesn't tell a parent much at all, they will from now on be writing the specific fines that they received each day.
