A Great Honor

This afternoon, I was pleasantly surprised to learn that I had been selected to be Beauclerc's "Teacher of the Year". It was an incredible honor, especially to nominated along with such great teachers as Mrs. Rowan, Mrs. Jenkins, and Mrs. Beaver. To choose the Teacher of the Year, I had to submit an essay to the judging committee, in which I spoke heavily of many of my former Superstars! The committee came to our class to observe during a math lesson, and the new Superstars were at their best, demonstrating incredible math strategies reaching to the incredible levels of kids like Klea, Darius, Amber, and Blaine! Big thanks to the selection committee, as well as my amazing students both old and new!

PTA Dance!

We had a blast at the PTA dance!  Check out some of the Superstars posing with a realistic cardboard cutout of Mr. Sofferin.  It looks just like me!

Two Star Students!

This past week we had a tie for Star Student - Evan and Bella were tied with 23 points each!  I couldn't break the tie, so we have two Star Students this week!

Back to School Dance and T-Shirt Orders

Our second annual PTA-hosted Back-to-School "Dance" will be September 18th! Students whose parents have already joined PTA can come for free! If you haven't joined PTA, it's only $5 to join, and your child can come to the dance. The PTA hosts and helps out with so many wonderful events at our school over the course of the year, including Cultural Arts Day, Fun Run, Play Day, and so much more. And the funds collected at the start of the year are critical for all of these great activities to take place. I have added a permission slip to the Public Dropbox. There will be one coming home in Friday Folders.

I've also added the order form for our official Dr. Seuss-themed Beauclerc T-shirt!

The practice vocabulary quiz is now available for students.  Click on the link at the bottom of the vocabulary list on the sidebar.  Put your name in the boxes in the next window and then take the quiz.  You don't need to put your full last name in the box, just the last initial.

Each new vocabulary practice quiz will be posted in the same spot each weekend.
