Free Flu Vaccinations

LLC has partnered with Duval County Public Schools to provide flu mist vaccinations to all students in the district at no cost to parents.

Each child must return a consent form by Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at 8:40-10:05 AM.

The form is available on the district’s site, at healthyschoolsllc.com.


If you are unable to access the website, let me know and I will send the documents home with your child.

Off to a Great Start!

This has been an incredible first week of school! The returning Superstars came back ready to learn, as if they never left. The newbies have quickly been getting up to speed on how we do things in room 81. As a result, we've been able to get a jump start on our learning for the year, getting farther in the first week of school than I've ever been able to get this early!

I am super excited about this year and the amazing group of kids I get to work with!



Oh, and also, this happened after school!


I realized afterward that I said "ALC" instead of "ALS". Oops! First mistake so far this year! Mark it down!

First Day of Fourth Grade

We had a terrific first day of school today! It was so great to see all so many of last year's Superstars back in room 81, as well as 7 great additions to our group. Today, we formed class teams of Superheroes, chose class jobs, and jumped right into our first math unit on place value.

The "veterans" have been doing a great job helping the "newbies" get the hang of things in our class, so tomorrow we're getting started with our first novel, our first science experiment lesson, and our first writing activity!

This is going to be a really wonderful school year!

Superstars in Fourth Grade!

Just a few short days left until school starts up again!  After seeing my wonderful third graders grow so much last year in their thinking skills, I am more excited than ever to get started this year.  We're going to hit the ground running this year, learning more than you would have ever imagined at the start of third grade!  I can't wait to get started!

If you haven't already done so, make sure to gather your school supplies before the start of the year.  If you need another copy of the supply list, you can download it from my Dropbox.  See the link to the right.

You can also stop by for a visit on Friday during fourth grade's orientation!  Of course, you're all familiar enough with your classroom and your teacher, but I'd still love to see you guys early anyway!  And I may even let you pick your own seat if you come early!

Other than that, enjoy the last week of your vacation time, and get ready for a whole lot more fun and learning on August 18th!

The End of a Great Year

This has been a wonderful year! After finishing a three-year loop with one of the best classes I've ever had, I had very high expectations for this class. I've been extremely satisfied with how well this class has performed and improved over the year. Next year, there will be a lot of new changes at Beauclerc with a new principal and several other new people at the school. But I'm confident that it will be another incredibly rewarding year for all of us in room 130!
