duPont Field Trip

We had a blast today visiting duPont!

One of the first things the kids noticed was how huge the school was compared to Beauclerc! The sixth graders even have their own building. We started our visit in the auditorium, which actually has SEATS!

After a short introduction by the guidance counselor and 6th grade principal, the kids had their first middle school lesson - How to open a combination lock!

Mrs. Martin, the guidance counselor recommended that kids get a combination lock and practice over the summer!

Then, the 8th grade honors students led us on a tour through the campus. Here is one of the groups in the computer lab. And hey look! That's former Beauclerc student, Katherine Flemming!

I was especially ecstatic to see my former third grader, Nandi, who is now one of the top honors students at duPont! She looks so much older and more mature, I didn't even recognize her at first!

Of course, I instantly recognized Shantania as she shrieked at me while headed to the cafeteria! Here she is with another former student of mine, Antonio, and Jennifer's older brother, Jose!

The kids were really excited about all the new things to look forward to in middle school! Now we have just FIVE WEEKS LEFT to make sure your kids are ready for that transition!
