A Week of Music and Sound

This was a week filled with sound and music for our class!

First, our classroom was filled with singing to celebrate Elysha's birthday on Monday!

Then, over the course of the week, we learned about the wonders of sound energy, observing some really cool things you can do with simple things like wire hangers and Slinkys.

On Tuesday, we got to see an amazing demonstration of sound energy by the incredible percussion group, Ohm Glocken.

At the end of the concert, they even brought Klea, Elysha, and the rest of the ORFF Ensemble up to the front of the stage to join them in a huge percussion jam session! This was an amazing moment! I posted most of the Ohm Glocken/ORFF Jam Session on the class podcast - sofferinsuperstars.com

Special Thanks to Mrs. Laymon for the video!

Throughout the week, we wrote and shot our music video for "Figurative Language". I've been working this weekend on editing it all together. Here are a couple of stills - the full video will premiere on Monday!

Finally, on Thursday we hit the road and visited the symphony orchestra!

What a great time we had this week learning about sound energy and hearing such wonderful music!

Special Thanks to Mrs. Laymon for bringing Ohm Glocken to Beauclerc and for taking fourth and fifth grade to the symphony!
