Thanks for Coming to Open House!

We had a phenomenal turn out at last night's Open House! Thank you so much to everyone who took the time to come and learn about your child's fifth grade class! As promised, I've posted all the critical information right here on the blog!

If you were not able to attend Open House, please make sure to read the following posts to get caught up on how we do things in Ms. Harris and Mr. Sofferin's classes. And remember, most notices about upcoming events, tests, projects, and anything else will be posted EXCLUSIVELY to this blog!

When is the first Social Studies and Science test and what will be covered (i.e. Chapters/Lessons, etc.)?

Tests for the content areas will be at the end of the units. I have no date for either at this point because I do not know when we will finish our science or social studies units. The length of a unit is not dependent upon my planning, but rather how long it takes students to understand the concepts taught. But if a test is to be given within the upcoming two weeks, it will be posted on the blog. Also, keep in mind that tests are not the only method of assessment. I have already taken several grades in science and a few in social studies based purely on participation and demonstration of understanding during class work and experiments.
